Mission/Purpose/Description:
Mission: The mission of NHS is to honor students who have excelled in scholarship, leadership, service and character.
Purpose: National Honor Society at Gwinnett Online Campus is an honorary organization for students who have outstanding academic achievement and who have been chosen as exceptional representatives in the areas of leadership, service, and character by a selection committee. According to the national organization's goals, NHS hopes "to recognize and encourage academic achievement while developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy."
Description: National Honor Society (NHS) membership has been the true mark of student achievement for over 100 years, but it goes far beyond a report card. By empowering, championing, and recognizing well-rounded students, NHS provides students with a values-based framework to elevate a culture of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Membership is available to 4-12 students who meet the academic requirements and are then selected based upon careful consideration of applications that display exceptional merit in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Once selected for membership, students must maintain a commitment to these areas as well as continued academic success.

Mission/Purpose/Description:
Odyssey of the Mind is an international creative problem-solving program that engages students in their learning by allowing their knowledge and ideas to come to life in an exciting, productive environment. Participants build self-confidence, develop life skills, create new friendships, and are able to recognize and explore their true potential. OotM proves that students can have fun while they learn.
We will meet at the start of the school year for an info session and to gauge interest. Each team must have at least one parent coach. If we garner enough interest for a team, we will form teams and register for the year and for competitions. We also work in conjunction with Momentum Arts and work to collaborate with them to form cooperative teams.
