Daily Schedules

K-3 Students

K-3 General Information

Kindergarten - 3rd grade students meet in live virtual sessions Monday - Thursday from 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM. On Fridays, students attend Reading and Math classes between 8:00 - 10:00 AM. The block time between 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM on Fridays will vary weekly and will be communicated in advance by the teacher. Activities may include independent assignments, individualized intervention, reassessment opportunities, small group instruction, work completion, (virtual or in-person), as well as required counseling lessons, and GOC Fridays (twice per semester). The schedule includes breaks for lunch and recess.

Attendance is required daily for K-3 because of the need for live interaction with teachers each day. Sessions are not recorded, so students who are not present will miss the instruction that day just like they would in a regular in-person classroom.  Students should be attending class sessions at a regular workstation with all of the supplies provided for the program.

Grades 4-5 General Information

4th and 5th Grade Students

At Gwinnett Online Campus, we use a hybrid model to support learning for our 4th and 5th grade students. Students are expected to attend Live Virtual Sessions Monday - Thursday from 8:00 -11:50 AM, where they participate in real-time instruction, lessons, and assignments. Fridays will vary weekly and will be communicated in advance by the teacher. Activities may include independent assignments, individualized intervention, reassessment opportunities, small group instruction, work completion, (virtual or in-person), as well as required counseling lessons, and GOC Fridays (twice per semester). The schedule includes breaks for lunch and recess. All online instruction and assignments are delivered through our learning platform, Desire2Learn (D2L).

Attendance is recorded during Live Virtual Sessions. Students should plan to spend approximately 50 minutes each day in each live virtual core content class—Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. In addition, students will participate in Specials Classes, which include Computer Science and Health & PE. These classes typically require 1 to 2 hours of work per week.
