- If a certificate is lost, students may visit the eADAP website and follow the instructions to “Print Certificate.”
Personal Fitness (Graduation Requirement)
Personal Fitness is a semester-long course required for graduation. The class is designed to help students develop lifelong fitness habits while learning the foundations of health and physical training.
Students enrolled in Personal Fitness will:
- Complete pre- and post-fitness tests (mile walk/run, push-ups, and curl-ups).
- Participate in monthly fitness progress checks.
- Build both a Personal Fitness Portfolio and a Summarizing Concepts Portfolio to track their growth and demonstrate understanding of course concepts.
- Learn about the components of fitness and training, exercise safety, nutrition and energy management, and goal setting.
Tracking and Technology Requirements (Applies to Most PE Courses)
To support accurate fitness tracking, most PE courses—including Personal Fitness—require the use of a fitness app or device. Students may choose between a free smartphone app or a personal fitness device.
Requirements include:
- A fitness app such as Fitbit, MapMyFitness, or Strava (any app with GPS to track pace and distance).
- Carrying or wearing the device/phone during walk/runs to record results.
- Using a smartphone to video push-up and curl-up tests.
- Submitting screenshots of mile walk/run results for pre-test, post-test, and monthly progress checks.
- Documenting all progress in the Personal Fitness Portfolio.
As students show improvement, they may have the option to log workouts with a Fitness Sponsor (parent, coach, teacher, or trainer) instead of the app.
