K-3 General Information
Kindergarten - 3rd grade students meet in live virtual sessions Monday - Friday from 8:30 - 2:30. The schedule includes breaks for lunch and recess.
Attendance is required daily for K-3 because of the need for live interaction with teachers each day. Sessions are not recorded, so students who are not present will miss the instruction that day just like they would in a regular in-person classroom.
Students should be attending class sessions at a regular work station with all of the supplies provided for the program.

4-5 General Information

At Gwinnett Online Campus, we use a hybrid model to support learning for our 4th and 5th grade students. Students are expected to attend Live Virtual Sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, where they participate in real-time instruction, lessons, and assignments. If students are unable to complete all assigned work during these sessions, they have the opportunity to finish it independently in the afternoon.
On Tuesdays, teachers host a required Live Virtual Homeroom Session at 8:30 AM to provide additional support and guidance as students work independently throughout the day. Students will also be assigned independent online lessons to complete each Friday.
All online instruction and assignments are delivered through our learning platform, Desire2Learn (D2L).
Class Schedules
Attendance is recorded during Live Virtual Sessions. Students should plan to spend approximately 50 minutes each day in each live virtual core content class—Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. In addition, students will participate in Specials Classes, which include Health & PE, and either Art or Computer Science (each offered for one semester). These classes typically require about 1 to 2 hours of work per week.
