High School Counseling
School counselors lead a comprehensive counseling program to students in 9th-12th grades by providing individual advisement and counseling, small group counseling, and classroom guidance on topics that encourage academic, social-emotional, and career development. They also provide consultation to teachers and parents.
Pursuant to GA law [OCGA 19-7-5)(1)] school counselors are mandated reporters. If they suspect child abuse or neglect, they are mandated to contact the GA Department of Child Protective Services.
