What is iReady Inform?
Gwinnett County Public School students will be participating in universal screeners in kindergarten through 8th grade. A universal screener allows teachers and stakeholders to formulate next steps in instruction and identify students skills in need of enrichment/acceleration or students who are at risk of poor learning outcomes. A universal screener is a diagnostic assessment that generates questions for the students based on the answer from the previous question. Students will see material that is new to them. They should not use outside resources for these questions, but instead make an educated prediction for the answer and move on to the next question.
The universal screeners are required as part of House Bill 307 which also includes literacy tasks for students in grades K-3. HB 307 requires students to be administered the universal screener three times a year. Participation is required by the state with the goal to gather data for school leaders, educators, and stakeholders on foundational literacy skills.

This test is adaptive, which means that the level of difficulty will change as the student answers each question. Questions get a little harder each time a question is answered correctly, and a little easier when answered incorrectly.
