Access testing is completed each school year for multilingual students to establish their level of English language proficiency. Teachers and school leaders use the data to determine programs, resources, and possible accommodations students may need as they continue to learn and comprehend the English language. Once students are entered into the multilingual program, they are only able to exit the program by completing the Access assessment and obtaining a specific score.

The students take four domains:

1. Listening
2. Speaking
3. Reading
4. Writing

They will complete two domains per testing session. Access is a state assessment and requires students to test in-person at Gwinnett Online Campus.
