A Typical Day of an Online Learner

Students at Gwinnett Online Campus are encouraged to take charge of their learning and create an educational experience that fits with their family and extracurricular obligations. Each student at Gwinnett Online Campus will have a slightly different approach to completing assignments and participating in coursework and class activities. Below is what a typical day may look like for a successful online learner at GOC. Please note that the curriculum presented at Gwinnett Online Campus will require just as much of a time commitment as courses in brick-andmortar building. As with traditional classes, students must manage their time appropriately and implement good study skills.

Morning

  • Wake up/ Prepare for the day
  • Check email and respond to emails from teachers and classmates
  • Login to virtual homeroom and check announcements for vital information; check current grades, update calendar, as needed
  • Review daily agenda/checklist for assignments or activities to complete
  • Get up and move… Feed your dog
  • Login to course
  • Join CLASS session - (live direct instruction with a teacher)
  • Complete daily activities/lessons and submit assignments

Mid-Day

  • Lunch
  • Login to course
  • Complete daily activities/lessons
  • Contact teacher as needed

Afternoon

  • Get up and move… Help fold the laundry
  • Login to course
  • Respond to discussion thread
  • Submit personal narrative assignment
  • Get up and move… Check the mail and get some fresh air
  • Login to course
  • Play review game - Take quiz
  • Get up and move… Make yourself a healthy snack
  • Login to course
  • Complete daily activities; submit completed assignment(s)
  • Join CLASS session (High school students may have multiple CLASS sessions per day)
  • Check and respond to emails from teachers, classmates Cross off completed assignments/activities on daily checklist… great job

Evening

  • The daily schedule for High School students may extend into the evening hours
