On-Campus Expectations

Orientation

During the first week of school, a face-to-face orientation session may be held on campus for elementary, middle, and high school students and parents. The dates for orientation will be posted on the Gwinnett Online Campus website. Students will meet teachers, learn how to access courses, navigate the learning management system, and participate in team-building activities.

Testing

Students are required to take the same assessments and tests as any student enrolled in a traditional school in GCPS. All official exams must be taken on campus during the testing windows outlined by the GCPS and the State of Georgia. Testing dates will be posted as soon as they are available.

On-Campus Expectations

Research shows that a blended approach (online learning with some face-to-face time) provides the best support for students. Students in grades k-12 will have the opportunity to attend rich experiences, field trips, and other organized club and school events in-person throughout the year. Students will attend virtual class sessions from home. Interactive class sessions will be recorded so that any student who is not able to attend will have access to view them online. This also provides opportunities for review. Transportation to and from the campus is the responsibility of the parent or guardian. Please refer to the Weekly Campus Overview for a Campus Schedule.
